Morehouse dean picked for human research protection committee

ATLANTA - A Morehouse School of Medicine dean was named Friday to a federal committee that seeks to protect humans in medical research, federal officials said. <br>

Dr. E. Nigel Harris, dean and senior vice president for academic affairs at the medical school, was selected to the Advisory Committee on Human Research Protection. <br>
<br>
Harris was one of 11 doctors, scientists and other experts chosen for the committee, which will advise the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on matters that relate to the responsible conduct of research that involves humans. <br>
<br>
Examples include research that involves children and prisoners, pregnant women, embryos and fetuses.
