ATLANTA - Police have arrested a 23-year-old suspect in connection with the sexual assaults of two students in a dorm at Georgia State University in Atlanta last month.
Georgia State Police identified the suspect Tuesday as Ruben Fortune of Decatur. Officers arrested him about 9 p.m. Monday.
He is charged with two counts of aggravated sodomy and five counts of kidnapping in connection with the assaults December second.
Police Major Carlton Mullis says the suspect is not a Georgia State student.
Police say five women were in the dorm suite around 2:45 p.m. when a man armed with a knife knocked on the door.
Police say one of the students opened the door and the intruder forced his way in. He tied up three of the women with a phone cord and sexually assaulted the other two before running down a nearby stairway.
Police say Fortune was arrested based on a forensic link established by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab between evidence gathered at the scene and Fortune.
