ATLANTA - Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney has dropped U.S. Representative Denise Majette and the Georgia Republican party from her lawsuit challenging the state's open primary system.

McKinney is claiming that she lost the August Democratic primary to Majette because of crossover voting by thousands of Republicans. She originally sought to invalidate the election.
Majette was elected to the Fourth Congressional District position in November with 77 percent of the vote.
Secretary of State Cathy Cox, the Georgia Democratic Party and DeKalb and Gwinnett elections officials are still defendants in the suit.
