ATLANTA - Sonny Perdue's planning a new twist on Georgia's inaugural day traditions.
Perdue has asked an honor contingent of state troopers and Georgia National Guard members to line up outside the Capitol for an official visit after Perdue takes his oath.
Republicans are calling the ceremony ``the inspecting of the troops.''
Perdue is a former member of the U.S. Air Force and a big supporter of the military.
Last week, the governor-elect appointed a retired brigadier general to the new office of Inspector General. He also looked to the military for his new director of state Homeland Security. Bill Hitchens is a former Marine and was a state trooper from 1969 to 1997.
