Army lieutenant charged with child molestation

COLUMBUS - An Army lieutenant was charged with two counts of child molestation after two boys, 12 and 13 years old, told police he had fondled them. <br> <br> First Lt. Jason Burkos, 25, of Columbus, pleaded innocent during a hearing Thursday. <br> <br> The judge set bond at $20,000 and ordered the Army officer held at the Muscogee County Jail. <br> <br> Police were notified Monday after the 13-year-old returned from a sleep over, also attended by the 12-year-old, at Burkos&#39; apartment, officials said. <br> <br> Upset and crying, the older boy told his father he had been fondled, police said. <br> <br> During an investigation, the younger boy told police he had been involved in a relationship with Burkos for several months. Police said Burkos bought him expensive gifts and took him on trips without his mother&#39;s knowledge.
