Lawmaker says political vendetta made him retire from teaching

CUTHBERT - Gerald Greene has taken a leave of absence from teaching high school history to serve as a state representative for the past 20 years. <br> <br> But the Randolph County school board has denied his request this year. <br> <br> Greene -- a Democrat from Cuthbert -- blames his retirement from teaching at Randolph-Clay County High School on a political grudge. <br> <br> Greene says he was forced out because of his part in redrawing district lines for the school board and county commission in Randolph County. He says the redistricting unintentionally left some members outside their districts. <br> <br> School board member Wayne Watson has declined to say why the request for leave was denied. <br> <br> Lawyers for the Georgia Association of Educators are looking into the matter at Greene&#39;s request.
