ATLANTA - There's more concern among Georgia State University students after a young woman was abducted as she walked to her car about two blocks from the University Village and later sexually assaulted.
Authorities say a man approached the student from behind about 7 p.m. Tuesday, forced her into a car and drove to several locations in Atlanta and DeKalb County, where he assaulted her.
Authorities say he eventually pushed her out of the car and she was able to call police.
The school said the assault (occurred on Merrit Street and Centennial Olympic Park Drive), in an area where many GSU and Georgia Tech students live.
The attack came almost seven weeks after an on-campus attack raised concerns about safety at University Village, a two-thousand-student housing complex where two women were sexually assaulted on December second.
A Fulton County grand jury indicted 23-year-old Ruben Fortune yesterday on eleven felony counts -- including aggravated sodomy, kidnapping, burglary and aggravated assault stemming from that attack.
