LAWRENCEVILLE - A 32-year-old Lawrenceville man was being held without bond Wednesday, accused of molesting four boys left in his care.
Erik A. Cooper, a foster parent, threatened to leave Georgia with the children, Gwinnett County police said in the arrest warrant.
Authorities said Cooper was charged last week with five counts of child molestation involving three brothers and a fourth boy. The children were between 7 and 12, Assistant District Attorney Jim Miskell said.
Cooper was accused of fondling the boys on several occasions from October 2001 to May 2002, according to arrest warrants.
His attorneys could not be reached Wednesday for comment.
Gwinnett County Department of Family and Children Services has said Cooper cannot be a foster parent in Georgia because of rules violations.
