Carters donate $370,000 of Nobel Award to caregivers' institute

AMERICUS - Former President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn have donated $370,000 of his one million-dollar Nobel Peace Prize award to an institute she founded to help caregivers and their families. <br>

The Carters made the dontation to the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Human Development at a ceremony at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus. <br>
<br>
The institute provides relief for caregivers, who often struggle with physical and emotional stress, isolation, guilt and financial strain. <br>
<br>
Caregivers are those who care for people with physical and mental disabilities, the elderly or children.
