Industry chief headed to Germany to secure van plant deal

ATLANTA - Georgia&#39;s new commissioner of industry will travel to Germany next week to secure a deal with DaimlerChrysler to build a van plant in south Georgia. <br> <br> Glenn Cornell was sworn in Friday as the new head of the Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism. <br> <br> He says he&#39;s going to Germany to assure the car makers that a new governor doesn&#39;t mean trouble for their plans to build an assembly plant in Pooler. <br> <br> The 1,500-acre site near Savannah could eventually employ 3,300 people.
