ATLANTA - The Avon Foundation will decide by Friday whether to call off Atlanta's Three-Day Walk.

The event drew three-thousand participants last year.

Negotiations betweeen the foundation's Breast Cancer Crusade team and Pallotta TeamWorks in Los Angeles apparently failed over the weekend to resolve whether Pallotta can fulfill its contract. The company manages the fund-raiser in Atlanta and other cities.

If it can't manage the events, the walks in Atlanta on October fourth through sixth will be canceled along with walks in New York and Los Angeles.

A former spokesman said last month that Pallotta Teamworks had shut its doors and laid off more than 250 employees.

The director of the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade - Susan Heaney - says finding another promoter at this point does not appear feasible.

The walk in Atlanta goes from Lake Lanier to Piedmont Park.
News that the walk may be canceled angered some walkers, who must pay a 75-dollar registration fee and raise a minimum of 19-hundred dollars to participate.
