STATESBORO - Jermaine Austin will more than likely start this week for Georgia Southern who take on Gardner-Webb on Saturday at home.
Austin came off the bench last week to lead the Eagles in rushing in its 22-to-19 loss to Delaware.
The 5-foot-7, 205-pound Austin rushed for 73 yards on 13 attempts in last Thursday's game. The redshirt freshman also had an 11-yard touchdown run as the backup to sohphomore starter Hakim Ford at fullback.
Ford, who averaged five-point-five yards last season, gained 53 yards on 17 carries against Deleware.
Coach Mike Sewak has put a lot of emphasis this week on getting the ball past the goal line from inside the ``red zone.'' The Eagles had to settle for two field goals in three attempts from inside Deleware's 20-yard line.
