Man arrested for carrying gun in airport

ATLANTA - A Cobb County man has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon after guards found a loaded handgun on him at Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport. <br> <br> Police say 39-year-old Manuel Humberto Espinol had a point-32 caliber automatic handgun in his right rear pocket when he went through a metal detector this morning. <br> <br> Only ticketed passengers are allowed past the security checkpoint, but Espinol had special permission to meet an elderly person arriving on a flight. <br> <br> Airport spokeswoman Yolanda Clark said flights were not affected. <br> <br> Espinol told security guards he forgot he was carrying the handgun. He is being held at the Clayton County jail and is scheduled to appear before a magistrate judge Friday morning. Bond will be set at the hearing. <br> <br> Willie Williams, federal security director for the airport, said once or twice a month screeners find a gun on a traveler.
