VALDOSTA - Butch Traylor has been delivering packages in south Georgia for 25 years, but he's not your typical United Parcel Service driver.

He's a graduate student at Valdosta State University and recently wrote an op-ed piece in The New York Times, criticizing the Justice Department for asking delivery workers like him to report on ``suspicious'' activities.
The article, headlined ``This Guy Won't Spy,'' gave his view on the Terrorism Information and Prevention System, which asks delivery-service employees to report any ``suspicious'' activities.
In the piece, Traylor admitted that he's seen some ``unusual things in his day,'' but noted ``I've always felt it is just a little un-American to pay too much attention to what my customers are doing or receiving. I worry about whose definition of 'suspicious' is going to be used.''
Traylor -- who is studying public administration -- said his opinion was not necessarily company policy, but he received a letter of commendation.
