COLUMBUS - Friends and family of Fort Benning soldiers serving in Kuwait have organized a symbolic walk of 7,204 miles -- the exact distance from Georgia to the Mideast country. <br>

The group of about 100 began August eighth and have created a map of milestones leading to Kuwait -- Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Paris, Cairo -- and then to Kuwait, south of Iraq. <br>

So far, they have accumulated about 750 miles, nearly enough to cover the distance to Washington, D.C. <br>
<br>
Anyone can accumulate the miles to Kuwait, not only by walking, but also by hiking, biking, swimming or using a treadmill -- anything other than motorized transport.
