ATLANTA - Kevin Millwood has won eight straight starts, improving his record to 17-6 while helping the Atlanta Braves cruise to their 11th straight division title.
The Braves moved into first place for good on May 27 and clinched the N.L. East title Monday.
While Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux have put up their standard sparkling numbers, Millwood's performance has again given Atlanta a solid Number three starter.

That wasn't the case the last two seasons.

After a 10-13 mark in 2000, Millwood stumbled again last season, going 7-7 while being limited to only 21 starts with a sore shoulder. Now, he appears to be back on track.
Millwood and Atlanta beat the New York Mets 8-5 Wednesday. He didn't have his best stuff, laboring through five and two-thirds innings and throwing 107 pitches, but still held the Mets to one run.
That ran Millwood's record to 15-1 in his past 22 starts. The Braves were 20-2 in those games.
