LULA - The annexation and rezoning for a subdivision and shopping center was okayed by the Lula City Council Monday night, despite opposition from a number of people at the meeting. <br>

The plan involves about 170 acres in the Georgia 365/Georgia 51/Tallant Drive area; 110 acres will be set aside for the subdivision, the second large subdivision approved in the East Hall area this month. <br>

Opponents cited such things as increased traffic and school overcrowding in asking the council to reject the application. <br>
<br>
On September 3, a 300-lot development was okayed on Gillsville Highway at Joe Parker Road.
