P&G said David Raines left its work force in July and joined Georgia-Pacific shortly afterward. The lawsuit claims that Raines has substantial knowledge of technology P&G uses to make Bounty paper towels and Charmin bath tissue.
P&G sued in Cincinnati federal court, asking for an order to protect the company's trade secrets.
Georgia-Pacific says it is surprised by the lawsuit. The Atlanta-based paper maker said it had already instructed Raines not to disclose any P&G trade secrets. Georgia-Pacific said it confirmed that in writing to P&G.
