Brenau's Golden Tigers match against Emmanuel ends in tie

Gainesville, Ga. - Brenau University Golden Tigers were well on the attack in the first half of a women's college soccer match against Emmanuel College that kicked off 4 p.m. <br>
Thursday at Emmanuel's home base, Franklin Springs, Ga., with Emily Miller, a Brenau psychology junior from Loganville, Ga., scoring two goals before her opponents could pause for breath. <br>

But the lead couldn't hold as Emmanuel came back in the last 10 minutes of the first half with an unexpected surge of energy, tying the game at 2-2. During the second half,Emmanuel increased its offensive pressure and was rewarded with their third goal in the first ten minutes of the second half. <br>

But regaining composure, the Golden Tigers forward Laura Davis, a Brenau education junior from Lula, Ga., provided the equalizer just five minutes later. <br>

The scoring opportunities continued to come for the Golden Tigers, but neither team could seem to find the back of the net for the <br>
remainder of the match and into two overtime periods. <br>
<br>
The match ended in a 3-3 tie. Brenau University's record now stands at 2-1-1; 1-0-1 in Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference play. <br>
