The collision happened around 2 a.m. at the intersection of North Druid Hills and Clairmont roads, DeKalb fire Lt. Eric Jackson said. The paramedics were en route to an earlier accident on I-285.
The driver of the car, whose name has not been released, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died. Two passengers in the car were in critical condition Sunday.
The sirens and emergency lights also were in use, he said.
