DOUGLASVILLE - Three people have been charged with murder and authorities are looking for another man in connection with what officials describe as a death contract taken out on a truck driver.
The victim's wife is accused of arranging the hit, Douglas County and Douglasville officials said Monday. Tips from the public helped lead to the arrests in an 11-month investigation.
According to investigators, Eugene ``Jerry'' Post, 59, was shot five times with a .45-caliber gun on Oct. 25, 2001 at Royal Metal Products in Douglasville, where he worked as a truck driver. A co-worker found the body several hours later.
Douglas County Sheriff Phil Miller said Monday that Deborah Post, 47, arranged the ``assassination'' either for life insurance or because ``she just wanted to get rid of her husband.''

Police said they had little evidence to work with, and it wasn't until a $10,000 reward was posted in May by the owner of Royal Metal that they started getting leads.

``This shocked us as a company,'' said Roy Crider, an owner of Royal Metal. ``We wanted to see it resolved.''

Crider described the former worker as a ``top-notch employee.''
Douglasville Police Chief Joe Whisenant said Deborah Post and a friend, Mary Annette Kelley, allegedly approached Bernard Green for help.

Authorities accuse Green, who used to work with Kelley, of putting the women in touch with Michael Raysor, 33, thought to be the gunman.

The fee was $10,000 to $13,000, authorities said.
A warrant has been issued for Raysor's arrest. Post, Kelley and Green were being held with no bond.
