ALBANY - Dontre Williams returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown that began a 28-point first quarter as Albany State overpowered Lane 49-0 on Saturday night. <br>

Williams' return put Albany (1-3, 1-1 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) in front to stay after only seven seconds had elapsed. Lane fell to 1-3, 1-2. <br>

Marcus James and Kawaskee Teemer each added two touchdowns, James from 3 and 1 yards and Teemer from 36 and 1. <br>

Another touchdown came on a 29-yard run by Sterlin Jenkins, who finished with 114 yards on 8 carries. James, who ran for 24 yards, also completed 9 of 14 passes for 172 yards. <br>

Albany State got its final score with 9:17 left in the third quarter when Chris Culbert recovered a fumble in the end zone.
