A man charged in the beating of a 4-year-old was ordered to remain in jail Monday night without bond. <br>

Thirty-three-year-old William Furlow and the child's mother, 28-year-old Camisha Hicks, were arrested Saturday night at their College Park home on charges of aggravated battery and cruelty to a child. <br>

Furlow could be granted bond after another hearing scheduled for Friday. <br>
<br>
Police were responding to a call about a child who was not breathing when they found the boy with numerous bruises on his body. He is at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta with internal and head injuries. <br>
<br>
Authorities say the mother is nine months pregnant. Hicks' other two children have been placed in the custody of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services.
