ATLANTA - Slava Kozlov says he's still not completely comfortable on the ice after an Achilles tendon injury earlier this year, but his skill level certainly doesn't appear to have been effected.
The 30-year-old Russian had two goals and an assist Saturday night in a 4-4 tie with Nashville at Bossier City, Louisiana.
Kozlov, acquired in a trade with Buffalo, didn't play after December 29th last season because of his injury.
He sustained a deep cut, which required about 60 stitches to close, across his lower left leg when he was inadvertently slashed by the skate of Columbus center Tyler Wright.
A six-time 20-goal-scorer, Kozlov was being counted upon to bolster the Buffalo Sabres offense when he was acquired last July in a trade that sent goaltender Dominik Hasek to Detroit.
