ANDERSON, SOUTH CAROLINA - People wanting to put their boat into Lake Hartwell will have fewer choices after officials closed 13 of 35 public boat ramps because of the dry weather. <br>

The lake has dropped 12 feet below its normal level because of a drought entering its fifth year. <br>

Park ranger Kenneth Bedenbaugh said, ``We don't want someone backing their boat off into concrete. <br>

He said boat ramps also were closed in March when the lake experienced a similar drop in water levels.
