20 children treated, released after methane leak at school

ELLAVILLE - Twenty children at a south Georgia elementary school were treated and released from a hospital after being exposed to methane gas. <br>

The gas was coming from a floor drainage vent in a girls' restroom at Schley County Elementary school. <br>
<br>
Superintendent William Johnson said the school and neighboring Schley County High School will be closed until Monday while crews repair the leak. <br>
<br>
The children were taken to the Sumter Regional Hospital after complaining of headaches and nausea.
