Atlanta Journal-Constitution names managing editors

ATLANTA - Hank Klibanoff, a deputy managing editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer, was named managing editor/news of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and James Mallory, a deputy managing editor at the paper, was promoted to managing editor/initiatives and operations. <br>

Both will report to the Journal-Constitution's top editor, Julia Wallace, who made the announcement Wednesday. <br>
<br>
Klibanoff, 53, is a native of Florence, Ala. He spent much of his journalism career at The Boston Globe and then at the Inquirer, where he has worked for the past two decades. He was a City Hall reporter and national correspondent before serving in a number of editing positions. <br>

Klibanoff will begin overseeing the content and presentation of the newspaper starting Oct. 1. <br>
<br>
Mallory, 47, has spent 14 years at the Journal-Constitution, serving in roles ranging from business reporter to overseeing the metro and business news departments. He will be in charge of special newspaperwide initiatives, starting with a review of suburban coverage. He will also oversee news personnel, budgeting and administration.
