JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI - Shawn McIntosh, executive editor of The Clarion-Ledger newspaper in Jackson since August 2000, is leaving to take a post at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. <br>

McIntosh, a former managing editor at The Clarion-Ledger, will be a deputy managing editor in Atlanta, one of the nation's largest newspapers. <br>

Yesterday, the Atlanta newspaper announced that Hank Klibanoff, a deputy managing editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer, was named managing editor of news. <br>

The paper also announced that James Mallory, a deputy managing editor, was promoted to managing editor of initiatives and operations. <br>
<br>
In Jackson, McIntosh directed a staff of 100 to several state and national awards. Under her leadership, The Clarion-Ledger received the General Excellence award from the Mississippi Press Association, the group's highest honor.
