Two high school students arrested for bringing guns to school

LITHIA SPRINGS - Authorities say two 15-year-old Lithia Springs High School students were arrested Friday for allegedly bringing handguns to school. <br>

Police say the two boys, whose names are not being released, were carrying stolen handguns when they were approached by a school safety officer. <br>
<br>
Douglas County Sheriff Phil Miller says one student was carrying a gun in his backpack and the other was carrying one in his pocket. <br>
<br>
Miller syas both boys claimed they brought the guns to school for protection. <br>
<br>
The teenagers were charged on theft and gun charges and taken to a youth detention center.
