McKinney 'recycles' endorsements of Andrew Young, Bill Clinton

ATLANTA - Former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young says U.S. Representative Cynthia McKinney is recycling an endorsement he gave her in the past. Young called the recorded telephone message ``a fudge.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Young&#39;s words were coupled with endorsements from actor Robert Redford, former basketball star Magic Johnson and former President Clinton and played to thousands of homes in the 4th District this past weekend. <br> <br> But the former mayor and U.N. ambassador says he told the campaigns of McKinney and her challenger, Denise Majette, that he will not endorse anyone in the contentious Democratic primary. <br> <br> He said, ``I really didn&#39;t want to get involved.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> State Representative Tyrone Brooks is McKinney&#39;s re-election chairman. He says he&#39;s -``baffled&#39;&#39; to hear Young is not endorsing the congresswoman. <br> <br> Brooks says the campaign&#39;s media coordinator must have pulled a tape from the archives of a previous campaign. <br> <br> Brooks says that Clinton&#39;s recorded endorsement also was recyled from 2000, when McKinney had no opposition in the Democratic primary. <br> <br> He says he does not think Clinton has changed his mind about supporting McKinney.
