Christmas, Martin in Dem runoff for Secretary of State spot

Barbara Christmas, leader of the state's largest teacher's association, and former Atlanta school board member Joe Martin appear headed for a runoff in the Democratic race for the Scretary of State's office.<br>

With 3,095 of 3,165 precincts - 98 percent - reporting as of early Wednesday morning Christmas had 170,158 votes (38 percent) to Martin's 106,572 votes (24 percent).<br>

Theresa Bey received 61,558 votes (14 percent), Peyton Williams Jr. got 45,332 (10 percent), Phyllis E. Lowther Turner got 40,799 (9 percent) and Larry Wayne McNorton got 19,545 votes (4 percent).
