Caseworker fired after child's death

ATLANTA - One caseworker has been fired and another has resigned after a review of the death of a 13-year-old Cherokee County girl who had cerebral palsy. <br> <br> Officials with the Division of Family and Children Services said Wednesday that two supervisors also have left their jobs. One resigned and another has been demoted to case manager. <br> <br> The actions come two weeks after the body of Rhiannon Gilmore was found in her home in Canton. Investigators believe she may have been dead several days before her body was found. <br> <br> Workers with the child welfare agency had known of the girl&#39;s case for nearly a decade. <br> <br> Welfare workers had taken the child and her siblings into protective custody before but later returned Rhiannon to the custody of her mother, Stephanie Gilmore. <br> <br> Gilmore and her boyfriend, Trent Day, are in jail. Gilmore faces child cruelty and child delinquency charges. Day is charged with concealing a death and tampering with evidence.
