A re-count Thursday confirmed the one-vote victory.
Teresa Nelson, coordinator for the Stewart County Board of Elections and Registrations, said both candidates were present for the entire recount, and Taylor could still challenge the results in Superior Court.
Stewart County is located just south of Columbus on the Alabama line.
