SAN ANTONIO - Forget that rookie quarterback Chad Hutchinson is getting a trial run as the starter. The Dallas Cowboys have too many real issues to deal with in Saturday's preseason game against Atlanta.
Cowboys coach Dave Campo and offensive coordinator Bruce Coslet just want their 25-year-old rookie to work with the first team and against a first-team defense.
Instead, they'll be checking their young receivers for someone to replace Rocket Ismail, who's down for the season with a neck injury. They'll also try to clarify a muddled picture at cornerback, as well as in the kicking game.
For now, there's no quarterback controversy for now. Quincy Carter is still Number One. He'll play the second and third quarters Saturday and will be the starter for the September 8 opener at Houston.
Like Dallas, Atlanta is 2-0 in the preseason. The Falcons are sticking with Michael Vick as their starter for the first half Saturday.
