JONESBORO - A Clayton County jury in Jonesboro has viewed photographs of injuries an officer says she received as she tried to restrain a woman's adult autistic son in a grocery store.
Prosecutors showed photographs Tuesday that were taken after the January incident involving 54-year-old Julia Munger's son. The photographs showed bruises on the right arm of Officer Shannon Stroup.
Munger faces battery and obstruction charges from the incident at a Publix grocery store in Morrow.
Her 23-year-old son, Billy Munger, reportedly became agitated and started cursing at employees. His mother is accused of being too rough with the officer who tried to remove him from the store.
A store customer testified that Julia Munger was pleading with the officer during the scuffle to let go of her son.
The trial enters its third day Wednesday.
