HARTWELL - Low levels at Lake Hartwell and other waterways have prompted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers consider reducing releases from three dams on the Savannah River.
Lake Hartwell is almost 14 feet below full pool.

After Labor Day, the corps may reduce the amount of water it releases through the dams at lakes Hartwell, Thurmond and Russell by about eight percent.
Hartwell has dropped so low that grass has grown in areas that are under water when the lake is full.
