ROSWELL - Linda Hunt, who took a four-stroke lead into the final round of the Georgia Women's Open, held on to win by a stroke Wednesday despite a final round of 73. <br>

Hunt is head PGA professional at Summer Grove Golf Club in Newnan. She opened with a 5-under 67 Tuesday at Canongate-on-White Oak Golf Club. <br>

Her 36-hole total of 140 gave her a one-stroke victory over Alpharetta's Leigh Turner, who closed with a 2-under 70. <br>

Hunt earned the $2,500 winner's prize, and an exemption into the LPGA Tour's 2003 Chick-fil-A Charity Championship. <br>

Turner, who plays for Furman University, claimed low amateur honors. <br>
<br>
Shannon Hanson, of Augusta, finished in third place at 1-under par. Rounding out the top five were University of Georgia assistant women's golf coach Laura Henderson-Matthews (144) and Carol Preisinger-Nitkewicz and Laura Coble (each 145).
