Body found near Lake Allatoona is missing Acworth girl

ACWORTH - The burned body found near Lake Allatoona was identified Friday by authorities as that of a 15-year-old Acworth girl. <br>

Katie Hamlin's body was found on Tuesday, naked and burned on the head and torso, said Nicole Ebbeskotte, spokeswoman for Cherokee County sheriff's department. <br>
<br>
A day after the body was found by a nearby resident, Hamlin's parents filed a missing-person report. <br>
<br>
Ebbeskotte said police have not determined how Hamlin died. They are awaiting the results of an autopsy. <br>
<br>
Dental records were used to identify Hamlin's body.
