TAMPA, FLORIDA - Former NFL quarterback Steve DeBerg is facing DUI charges Monday morning in Florida.
He was arrested over the weekend and charged with driving under the influence.
According to a police report, 48-year-old DeBerg was pulled over early Saturday in Tampa after police saw him ``driving erratically.'' He refused a breath test, and later posted $500 bond Saturday and left the Orient Road Jail.
The jail did not have a lawyer listed for DeBerg and attorney information was not immediately available early Monday.
He was also arrested for DUI in New York in 1996, when he was a coach for the New York Giants.
DeBerg threw for 34,241 yards, 196 touchdowns and 204 interceptions in a 21-year NFL career. He played with San Francisco, Denver, Tampa Bay, Kansas City, Miami and Atlanta.
His best season was in 1989, when he threw for 3,444 yards, 23 touchdowns and just four interceptions for the Chiefs.
