DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA - Seven crew chiefs from Winston Cup, including Chad Knaus on top rookie Jimmie Johnson's team, were fined Wednesday by NASCAR. <br>

Another crew chief from the Busch Series also was fined for infractions discovered during last weekend's races at Daytona International Speedway. <br>
<br>
Knaus was fined $25,000 and his No. 25 Hendrick Racing Team was penalized 25 championship points and 25 owner points. <br>
<br>
Johnson remains third in the standings, but fell to 139 points behind leader Sterling Marlin and just five ahead of Rusty Wallace. <br>
<br>
NASCAR said the penalties were for ``Actions detrimental to stock car racing: offset mounting bolts for the front of the truck trailing arms.'' <br>
<br>
Scott Eggleston, crew chief for Mike Wallace, and Jimmy Elledge, crew chief for Bobby Hamilton, were both fined $500 for using underpans. <br>
<br>
Newt Moore, crew chief for Kenny Schrader; James Ince, crew chief for Johnny Benson; and Lee McCall, crew chief for Marlin, all received $500 fines for unapproved jacking bolts. <br>
<br>
Chris Carrier, crew chief for Mike Skinner, also was fined $500 for using magnetic rear axle heating pads. <br>
<br>
In the Busch Series, Jason Ratcliff, crew chief for Ashton Lewis Jr., was fined $2,000 for an unapproved rear spring.
