Beat has the power in 4-1 win

UNIONDALE, N.Y. - Nikki Serlenga&#39;s penalty-kick goal in the 54th minute stood up as the game-winner as the Atlanta Beat defeated the New York Power 4-1 Saturday night. <br> <br> The Beat (7-7-1) got goals from four players. The last-place Power (2-12-1) lost their eighth in a row, extending their league-record losing streak. <br> <br> Sun Wen scored Atlanta&#39;s first goal in the 36th minute. She drove a free kick past diving goalkeeper Saskia Webber. It was Sun&#39;s third goal of the season. <br> <br> Serlenga&#39;s goal came after Power defender Kristy Whelchel took down Charmaine Hooper to create the penalty. It was Serlenga&#39;s first WUSA goal. <br> <br> Homare Sawa and Hooper added second-half goals for Atlanta. <br> <br> Tammy Pearman scored her second of the year in the 78th minute for the Power, who also tied the league record for losses in a season.
