Braves activate DeRosa

ATLANTA - Mark DeRosa, out two months with an ankle injury, was activated by the Atlanta Braves Wednesday. <br> <br> To make room for DeRosa, the Braves designated infielder Jesse Garcia for assignment. <br> <br> DeRosa had just become the regular shortstop when he tore tissue in his right ankle during a game against the Colorado Rockies on May 17. The next day, he went on the disabled list with a six-game hitting streak and .345 average. <br> <br> But on an 18-game rehab stint in the minors, he batted only .226. <br> <br> DeRosa said, ``I lost it. When I came back, it was gone, completely.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Before his injury, he started at four positions second, shortstop, third and right field. DeRosa spent most of his rehab playing second, working with minor league infield instructor Rafael Belliard. It was the first time DeRosa had been taught the position. <br> <br> DeRosa says he did not really know the ins-and-outs of the position. He said, ``I was just going on instinct.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Garcia batted .212 in 31 games.
