ATLANTA - The Atlanta Braves have activated Marcus Giles from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to their AAA club at Richmond. <br>

Giles was the Braves starter at second base before he sprained his right ankle May 28. He started 39 of Atlanta's first 51 games and hit .237 with five home runs and 12 RBIs. <br>

Giles hit .293 (12-for-41) with four doubles and seven RBIs in 12 games at Richmond during a rehabilitation assignment. <br>
<br>
Keith Lockhart, who is hitting .221, has taken over the starting second base job with the Braves. In the past 20 games, he has hit .316 with two homers and 11 RBIs.
