Two charged with plotting to kill Wrightsville police chief

WRIGHTSVILLE - Two people, including a man arrested on drug charges last month, have been accused of plotting to kill the police chief of Wrightsville, in middle Georgia. <br> <br> Twenty-eight-year-old Kenny Wright and 40-year-old Shari Hall, both of Wrightsville, were arrested earlier this week and charged with terroristic threats. Authorities say they wanted police Chief Steve Gresham dead. <br> <br> Johnson County Sheriff Rusty Oxford says he believes the plot stemmed from Wright&#39;s arrest on federal charges of selling cocaine to an undercover officer. <br> <br> The police chief says the original plot was for someone to beat him severely enough to maim him and end his career. Investigators later turned up a murder plot, he said. <br> <br> Wright and Hall face up to five years in prison if convicted.
