SWAT team responds to standoff in Cobb County

KENNESAW - Police in Cobb County have identified the 22-year-old man was found dead early Thursday morning after holding police at bay for most of the night. <br> <br> A SWAT team was called to the scene Wednesday night after Ryan G. Peeples fired at officers from a house in a Kennesaw subdivision. <br> <br> Cobb County police spokesman Brody Staud says the man&#39;s parents originally called police and said he had suicidal tendencies. <br> <br> Police say Peeples had multiple weapons on him, including several handguns, rifles and a shotgun. <br> <br> About 30 police units arrived at the home, responding to a 911 call around 7:20 p.m. Someone initially reported hearing gunshots inside the house. <br> <br> Authorities say police were met with gunfire when they approached. That&#39;s when they backed off and called the SWAT team. <br> <br> Police say they tried to negotiate with the man throughout the night but were not successful. They went into the house at 3:41 a.m., but Peeples was already dead.
