Coke board elects two officers

ATLANTA - Coca-Cola&#39;s board of directors have elected Alexander B. Cummings Junior, currently president of the company&#39;s Africa Group, as an executive vice president. <br> <br> Board members also elected 39-year-old chief information officer Jean-Michel R. Ares as a vice president at their meeting Thursday in Atlanta. <br> <br> The 45-year-old Cummings joined Coca-Cola in 1997 as region manager in Nigeria. He is a native of Liberia. <br> <br> Ares joined Coke in February after leaving General Electric&#39;s Atlanta-based G.E. Power Systems division. Ares is from Ottawa, Canada. <br> <br> Shares of Coca-Cola were down $2.40, or 4.8 percent, to $47.60 in late trading on the New York Stock Exchange Thursday.
