LEAH - The grass on Brian Graham's fairways is not closely cut, and some of the trees nearby are less than green.
The course doesn't look much like famed Augusta National Golf Club, a short drive away. Still -- just as Augusta is home to golf's Masters tournament -- Graham hopes people will someday think of Columbia County as home of the majors of a distant cousin of the sport -- disc golf.

Disc golf is similar to the traditional game but uses specialized discs instead of clubs and balls. The discs are equipped to fly various distances, and players fling them from a tee box, hoping eventually to reach a basket goal.
The game -- also called Frisbee golf -- emerged in the mid-1970s. The trees, shrubs and terrain of a disc golf course provide challenges for the players to get around.
Graham wants to move the Professional Disc Golf Association its international headquarters from Toronto to Wildwood Park in Columbia County. He figures the move could mean $1.8 million annually in tourism money for the county, which could play host to professional and amateur tournaments held at championship courses.
