AUGUSTA, Ga. - As many as 600 tropical fish were found dead at Bob's Tropical Fish store in Augusta, and authorities believe vandals did it by throwing chlorine tablets in the tanks.
Owner Bob Hockman said he found between 500 and 600 dead fish in several outdoor tanks on Sunday.

"Whoever did it had to know they were killing the fish because chlorine is toxic," he said. "This was a sick, twisted, perverted individual."
The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is investigating. Charges could include felony criminal damage to property, Maj. Ken Autry said.
The fish were in a special outdoor area to acclimate them to garden ponds. They ranged in price from $1 to $100 and included goldfish, koi, pond comets, shubunkins and sarasa comets.
Hockman estimated the value at more than $3,000.
