NEW ORLEANS - Veteran running back Terry Allen signed with the New Orleans Saints Tuesday. It continues a remarkable 13-season career in which he has overcome serious knee injuries to rush for more than eight-thousand yards.
The 34-year-old Allen led the Baltimore Ravens in rushing last season. He's expected to serve as the backup to Deuce McCallister in the Big Easy.
Saints general manager Mickey Loomis says, ``Terry gives us a veteran that we know we can depend on.''
This is Allen's second stint in New Orleans. In 1999, he stepped in when the Saints' backfield had been hit by injuries and helped fuel the club's race to the NFC West title.
