CONYERS - A 13-year-old boy collapsed and died while climbing a wall at summer camp in north Rockdale County.
Camp Westminster director Davy Stephenson said the boy had only been there for a day.
Richard Martin Jr., of Lawrenceville, was pronounced dead on arrival Monday at Rockdale Hospital. The boy did not fall when he lost consciousness and had to be brought down by a belay system, officials said.
Emergency medical technicians tried to revive him but he did not respond to CPR.
``We don't know exactly why he died,'' Medical Examiner Steven Dunton said after the autopsy. ``He had a history of seizures.'' No injuries were found.
``Our thoughts and prayers are with the Martin family,'' Stephenson said.
Camp Westminster, which is owned and operated by Westminster Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, has about 900 children there for summer sessions.
